«Tough» gold for Hungary and Estonia

At last but one day of European Cadet Championships in Bourges (France) team competitions ended with minimal advantage of Hungarian sabre fencers and Estonian epeeists.

Hungarian team achieved Championship in Men's sabre in a very hard way. They left France without semifinal by only one point victory - 45:44. Then, in eighth duel of the semis, overcame Ukrainians - Ferenc Valkai won his match with Yuriy Tsap with the score 7:2. Bence Szabo made a draw with Yevgeniy Statsenko - and 45:42 in the favor of Hungary. At last, in the final fight with Italy Hungarians, for the second time in a day, won with only one point of advantage - 45:44. Bronze went to Ukraine.

Estonian Women's epee team got to the final with big confidence. Nevertheless, in the middle of decisive duel Estonia was already losing seven points to Russia  - 9:16. But Erika Kirpu changed the situation - she defeated Arpi Ketsyan by 8:1 and made the score equal - 17:17. Three of four duels remaining ended with the draws. Only in eighth fight Estonian Julia Beljajeva (Bourges' Champion in individual epee) overcame Yulia Bakhareva 2:1 and brought the victory to her team. Bronze medal went to France.
