A few days ago Leipzig (Germany) held a session of Executive Committee of EFC. Many important questions were discussed during the meeting, but the most significant event was the appearance of General Secretary of International Fencing Federation (FIE)

Maxim Paramonov assured the members of COMEX that all obligations, undertaken by Alisher Usmanov as a President of EFC, would be discharged in full volume. Before the start of EFC July Congress in Plovdiv (Bulgaria), Confederation will get 500 000 USD.

Besides, in the near future EFC will receive from FIE the questionnaire and must answer on it. According to these answers group of the specialists would analyze the existing situation and make the suggestions for perfection of EFC's activity. This kind of work would be done by all continental Confederations. The result of it would be the Plan for development for these structures with sports and financial constituents. This work is supposed to be finished before start of continental Championships.

Maxim Paramonov also declared that on the following elections of new Confederation's President, that would take place in July, Alisher Usmanov would support Frantisek Janda (Czech Republic). The reaction on this news was an active discussion, the result of which was resumed by one of the COMEX members, Armenian Fencing Federation President Armen Grigoryan:

- Frantisek Janda is one of the persons, who worked hard all last years to make EFC an effective instrument for development of fencing in our continent. This would be good choice for European fencing. That's why I think that EFC must support his nomination. It would also be a right step for the FIE President to propose his candidatures for the posts of all continental Confederations. Because he would have to work with these people in the future, incarnating his program of development of fencing in the world.
