In the final Hungarian epeeists defeated Switzerland - 45:32. The third place went to Italians.
The Italian team was also the third in women's sabre, and Ukraine and Russia fought for the "gold". Ukrainian sabre fencers, Olympic Champions-2008, were stronger - 45:31 - and celebrated their first-time victory in the history of the European Championships.
In total medal table the best team title went to Italians. They won 5 "gold" and 4 "bronze" awards. German finished with 6 medals (2 "gold", "silver" and 3 "bronze"). Ukrainian team won 2 "gold" and 2 "bronze" awards. Traditional favorites - Russia and France - looked weaker than usual. Russians have got only one "gold" medal, and Frenchmen remained without the highest awards at all.
