After election of Alisher Usmanov as the President of the International Fencing Federation (FIE), Maxim Paramonov (Ukraine) was designated to the post of the Secretary General of this organization.

European Veterans Individual Championships 2009 ended in Balatonfüred (Hungary). The competition was held in 24 nominations and 96 medals were on.
